As part of Egypt’s efforts to attract investment and expand the international presence of its petroleum sector, Saudi Energy Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud inaugurated on Monday the exhibition accompanying the 25th WPC Energy Congress in Riyadh, attended by Egyptian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi, Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Mahmoud Esmat, and a number of participating energy ministers.
Following the opening, the Saudi energy minister and the two Egyptian ministers toured the Egyptian petroleum sector’s pavilion, which showcases investment opportunities in oil and natural gas exploration and production, the petrochemicals industry, and the technical and engineering capabilities of Egyptian companies, including their experience in implementing major projects.
The pavilion highlights their technical and engineering capabilities in major projects, construction, maintenance and well drilling, as well as natural gas vehicle fuelling services. Their participation reflects the diversity of Egypt’s petroleum sector and the ability of its companies to compete in regional and international markets.
It also showcases Egypt’s advanced natural gas infrastructure and integrated capabilities across the entire value chain, from exploration and production to processing, transportation, liquefaction and distribution. The pavilion highlights the role of the Egypt Upstream Gateway (EUG) in providing international companies with technical data and investment opportunities through its digital platform, supporting investment decisions and helping attract new investment in oil and gas exploration.
Egypt’s participation aims to highlight the accumulated expertise and track records of petroleum sector companies in implementing projects at home and abroad, particularly in Saudi Arabia and other regional markets. This is intended to strengthen their presence in regional and international projects and open up new opportunities to expand their operations.
The pavilion also provides a platform for direct engagement between Egyptian companies and international counterparts, clients, contractors, investors, and Saudi and international technology providers. The aim is to establish new partnerships, participate in tenders and joint projects, exchange expertise and facilitate technology transfer.
The participation reflects the Egyptian petroleum sector’s drive to maximise the value of its companies’ technical and engineering expertise, strengthen their competitiveness beyond the domestic market, attract further investment and consolidate Egypt’s position as a regional hub for energy and engineering and technical services.
