The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Acting Minister of Culture, Abdelaziz Konsowa, stressed on Sunday the importance of strengthening international co-operation in advanced technological disciplines, particularly artificial intelligence (AI), data science and digital transformation.
He highlighted the need to develop innovative educational programmes that keep pace with rapid technological advancements and respond to labour market requirements, equipping graduates with the skills needed to innovate and compete in the digital economy.
The minister made these remarks during a meeting with the President of Aivancity University in Paris, Tawhid Chtioui, during his visit to France.
The meeting, attended by the Egyptian Cultural Attaché in France, Chahinda Ezzat, explored prospects for establishing co-operation between Aivancity University and Egyptian academic and research institutions in areas of mutual interest.
Discussions focused on opportunities to develop specialised academic programmes and exchange expertise in AI, data science and digital transformation, with particular emphasis on the application of AI across a wide range of sectors, including management, business, finance, marketing, communications, engineering, healthcare, agriculture, tourism and smart cities.
Both sides also discussed the importance of addressing AI ethics and governance, assessing the societal implications of emerging technologies, and strengthening institutional and professional capacities to ensure their responsible and effective application.
Through these initiatives, the Ministry aims to enhance the capabilities of Egyptian graduates and professionals, support innovation and research, and strengthen the readiness of Egypt’s higher education system to meet the evolving demands of the digital economy.
