Means to enhance healthcare co-operation with Germany and explore new partnership opportunities topped the agenda of talks in Berlin on Saturday.
Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met with representatives of the German Health Alliance (GHA), on the sidelines of the World Health Summit 2026 in Berlin.
The two sides reviewed Egyptian-German co-operation in the healthcare sector, as well as future priorities to improve medical services, Health Ministry Spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said.
They also explored ways to enhance co-operation in localising the manufacture of medical supplies and equipment in Egypt, with a focus on boosting domestic production.
They also discussed means to expand co-operation with African countries by leveraging Egypt’s capabilities in the field.
The two sides also probed the possibility of holding the second German-Egyptian Health Forum in Cairo in 2027, including proposed topics and ways to strengthen Egypt’s participation and support.
