Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty inaugurated the seventh meeting of technical co-operation agencies of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) member states, held in Cairo for the first time from September 6–8.
The event brought together ministers, senior officials and representatives of development institutions from across the Bank’s member states.
In opening remarks, Abdelatty praised the Bank’s confidence in Cairo as host, describing the meeting as an important opportunity to strengthen dialogue and exchange expertise.
He announced the launch of the “Cairo Response Dialogue”, aimed at promoting South–South co-operation in addressing protracted crises and providing a platform for knowledge exchange, partnerships and investment.
The meeting also featured the signing of two memoranda of understanding between Egypt’s Agency for Partnership for Development and its counterparts in Guinea and Tunisia, establishing frameworks for trilateral co-operation in technical fields.
On the sidelines of the meeting, Abdelatty toured the Egyptian Development Exhibition, which showcases national expertise and solutions aimed at matching needs with resources and financing, while opening new avenues for partnerships.
