Chairman of the Board of Directors of the State Information Service (SIS) Ambassador Alaa Youssef has said that Egyptian-Turkish relations are witnessing significant development, driven by historical ties, shared interests and growing bilateral coordination.
Youssef made the remarks during his meeting on Wednesday with Turkish Ambassador to Cairo Saleh Mutlu Şen to discuss ways to enhance co-operation between Egypt and Türkiye in the media field.
During the meeting, Youssef said the shared vision of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has helped advance relations towards broader horizons and strengthen co-operation across various fields.
He further reviewed the SIS’s efforts to develop its media services and make greater use of digital platforms and social media to present an accurate image of Egypt domestically and internationally.
He highlighted efforts to showcase the country’s development achievements and national projects across different sectors, while providing facilities for foreign media outlets and correspondents operating in Egypt.
For his part, Turkish Ambassador Saleh Mutlu Şen affirmed Türkiye’s appreciation of Egypt’s important regional role and influential international standing.
He praised Egypt’s efforts to promote stability and peace and contribute to resolving regional crises, stressing the importance of continued Egyptian-Turkish coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest.
The Turkish ambassador also underscored the importance of media coverage in supporting Egyptian-Turkish relations and strengthening mutual understanding between the two peoples.
He said highlighting the steady development of bilateral relations across different fields would contribute to consolidating co-operation and partnership between Egypt and Türkiye.
