Housing Minister Randa El‑Menshawy met Chinese Ambassador Liao Liqiang in Cairo to discuss expanding co-operation in housing and urban development. The talks reviewed projects being implemented by Chinese companies, particularly in the New Capital and New Alamein City.
El‑Menshawy highlighted the depth of Egypt‑China relations under the leadership of Presidents Abdel Fattah El‑Sisi and Xi Jinping, stressing Egypt’s keenness to benefit from Chinese expertise in major projects.
Ambassador Liao affirmed China’s commitment to supporting the partnership, noting that co-operation in urban development contributes to sustainable growth.
The meeting also reviewed progress on projects by China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC), a major state-owned multinational builder frequently involved in large-scale urban developments, such as the New Capital’s business district.
Discussions covered execution rates and timelines, with both sides emphasising strict adherence to schedules and quality standards.
