Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel Aaty joined Jordan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Iraq’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein in a trilateral cooperation mechanism meeting on Wednesday held on the sidelines of the ministerial meeting on Jerusalem in Amman.

Minister Abdel Aaty underlined the importance of the trilateral framework as a key instrument for strengthening regional integration and advancing joint Arab action. He stressed the need to translate the political will of the three leaders into practical projects in infrastructure, trade, industry, energy, electricity interconnection, agriculture and transport, while ensuring the implementation of outputs of the technical committees under the mechanism to reinforce economic and developmental partnership.

The three ministers also discussed regional issues of common concern, foremost among them the Palestinian question. They emphasised the importance of intensifying Arab and international efforts to support the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people, including the establishment of an independent state on the 4 June 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Abdel Aaty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to sustaining support for the trilateral cooperation mechanism, contributing to deeper ties between Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, and bolstering security, stability and development across the region.
