Egypt’s Minister of Social Solidarity, Maya Morsi, met with Ghimar Deeb, Deputy Resident Representative of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Egypt, at the ministry’s headquarters in New Alamein City to discuss expanding joint co-operation.
The talks focused on accelerating economic empowerment initiatives under the broader project titled “Strengthening Institutional and Human Capacities of the Ministry of Social Solidarity”.
The meeting follows the recent signing of co-operation protocols between the Rural and Environmental Industries Support Fund and 12 non-governmental and civil society organisations. These agreements mark the launch of the project’s first phase of economic empowerment activities.
During the meeting, both sides reviewed the ministry’s ongoing efforts to enhance staff leadership skills and institutional capacities.
Key discussion areas included promoting transparency and integrity across internal administrative processes, improving workplace environments to drive institutional efficiency, and elevating service standards to ensure higher-quality support for Egyptian citizens.
The meeting concluded with both parties reaffirming their commitment to deepening their partnership and expanding joint initiatives into new development areas in the coming period.
