Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar met on Thursday with representatives of Inventure Group to discuss cooperation on developing two major medical cities in Egypt’s New Administrative Capital and New Alamein City.
Abdel Ghaffar said the government considers healthcare development a key pillar of sustainable development, adding that the two projects are designed to provide integrated, world-class healthcare services while strengthening Egypt’s position as a regional hub for medical services and health tourism.
The minister also reviewed Egypt’s digital health tourism platform, which offers international patients an integrated experience through online registration, appointment booking and coordination with healthcare providers, streamlining medical travel and improving service efficiency.
Officials presented the master plan for the medical city in the New Administrative Capital, which will cover 930,000 square metres and have a capacity of up to 5,000 beds. The project will include specialized hospitals, integrated medical centres, outpatient clinics, intensive care units and dialysis facilities.
The complex will also feature a medical education and training centre, research and innovation facilities, an advanced health data management system, residential areas for medical staff, patient hotels and supporting service facilities.
Abdel Ghaffar directed officials to prepare a comprehensive implementation plan outlining project phases, estimated costs, management and operational mechanisms, as well as a clear timetable for launching both projects in line with international standards.
