The Egyptian Armed Forces have announced the opening of applications for a new intake of Specialised Officers to join the Armed Forces, as part of the Egyptian Military Academy’s October 2026 admissions cycle aimed at supplying military departments and formations with qualified professionals.
The announcement was made during a press conference attended by General Ashraf Salem Zahir, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Minister of Defence and Military Production, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khalifa, Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces, Dr Diaa Rashwan, Minister of State for Information, alongside senior military commanders and public figures.
The new intake covers a broad range of academic disciplines.
Medical specialisations are open to both men and women. Male applicants may apply with degrees in Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Pharmacy, or Physical Therapy, while female applicants are eligible in the Head Nursing specialisation.
Engineering specialisations, available to men only, include Electrical Engineering (Power, Communications, Computer and Biomedical Engineering), Mechanical Engineering (Power, Automotive, Aeronautical and Mechatronics Engineering), as well as Chemical, Civil, Architectural and Naval Engineering.
The Armed Forces will also accept male graduates in a range of scientific and humanities disciplines, including Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence, Science (Chemistry, Double Major Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Physics, Geology and Geophysics), Law, Commerce, Agriculture, Physical Education, Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Media and Journalism, Music Education, and Applied Arts (Sculpture).
Language graduates are also eligible in English, French, Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Swahili, and Urdu.
Applicants must hold a minimum grade of “Good” in their university degree, while engineering graduates may apply with a minimum grade of “Pass”.
The maximum age on 1 November 2026 is 26 years for medical specialisations, 25 years for engineering graduates, and 24 years for all other disciplines.
Applicants must have obtained their university degree in 2026 or earlier, provided they meet the age requirements.
The programme lasts one academic year, after which successful candidates are awarded a Certificate of Completion of Military Studies.
