Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aati, has stressed the vital importance of pursuing diplomatic channels regarding Iran.

He underscored the critical need to safeguard freedom of navigation, refrain from imposing fees that could hinder maritime movement, and fully adhere to international law.

Abdel-Aati reaffirmed that the peaceful settlement of disputes remains the most effective path toward preserving regional security and stability.

The remarks were made during a telephone conversation on Saturday with Omani Foreign Minister Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, as part of ongoing bilateral consultations and coordination on regional developments.

The two ministers expressed pride in the deep-rooted fraternal ties between Egypt and the Sultanate of Oman, reaffirming their commitment to expanding cooperation across various sectors.

They highlighted the positive momentum in bilateral relations, particularly following President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s recent visit to Oman.

During the call, Minister Abdel-Aati conveyed President Sisi’s greetings to Sultan Haitham bin Tariq, emphasising both leaderships’ dedication to advancing mutual interests.

The discussions also touched upon the latest developments in United States–Iran negotiations, following the recent meeting between the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries and the US.

Both ministers agreed on the necessity of maintaining the negotiating track, resolving disputes exclusively through peaceful means and reinforcing long-term regional stability.

Turning to broader regional stability, the ministers reviewed the latest developments regarding the Palestinian issue.
