Egyptian, Tunisian leaders to hold summit talks
on regional issues, bilateral co-operation today.

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi received at Cairo International Airport Tunisian President Kais Saied who arrived in the Egyptian capital Friday for a three-day visit.
President Sisi and President Saied would hold summit talks at Ittihadiya Palace today, Presidential Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.

He added that talks between the Egyptian and Tunisian leaders would cover a wide range of regional and international issues of common interest.
The two leaders would also discuss means of enhancing bilateral relations and co-operation in all fields, Ambassador Radi said.
He added that President Sisi and President Saied would especially discuss co-operation in the security, economic and investment fields.
This is President Saied’s first visit to Egypt since he took office in October 2019, although the Tunisian and Egyptian leaders held conversations on the phone several times in the last few months, including most recently in January this year to check on his health, following reports about the arrival of a suspicious parcel to the Tunisian presidency.
The Tunisian presidency said on Thursday that President Saied’s visit to Cairo would come within the framework of connecting bridges of communication and consultation between the leaderships in Egypt and Tunisia.
Meanwhile, the official Tunisian news Agency, TAP, said the visit was intended to create new visions, likely to boost trade and consolidate co-operation between Tunisia and Egypt in order to meet the aspirations of the peoples of the two countries for progress and prosperity.
In Egypt, Tunisia is viewed very highly. Apart from being a fellow Arab and African nation, the North African state also shares borders with Libya.
