Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI), Major General Eng. Mokhtar Abdel Latif, received the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) President Félix Tshisekedi and his accompanying delegation on Thursday.
The visit comes within AOI’s strategy to deepen partnerships across Africa, expand intra-African trade, and create new opportunities for economic and development cooperation.
During the visit, the two sides held extensive talks on enhancing joint cooperation and leveraging AOI’s advanced manufacturing and technological capabilities to support development projects as well as defence and security industries in the DRC.
Discussions also covered prospects for cooperation across various manufacturing sectors.
Abdel Latif underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation with African nations in line with President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s directives to promote industrial and economic integration with African partners and expand Egypt’s presence in African markets through new export channels.
He also highlighted the strong ties between Egypt and the DRC, stressing the importance of expanding cooperation, particularly in development projects that support growth efforts in the Nile Basin country.
During a tour of AOI’s product exhibition, President Tshisekedi praised the advanced industrial technologies showcased by the organization, including armoured vehicles, personnel carriers, defence systems, firefighting vehicles, cash-in-transit vehicles, mobile ATM units, mobile technology centers, and medical industries.
The Congolese president reaffirmed his country’s commitment to strengthening cooperation with Egypt across industrial and development sectors, commending AOI as one of Egypt’s leading industrial institutions.
He also emphasized the importance of industrial integration and technology localization to support development and manufacturing plans in both countries.
