Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati , held a meeting on Friday with Keiichi Ichikawa, Japan’s National Security Advisor, as part of his bilateral visit to Japan.
The two sides discussed a range of regional and international developments of mutual interest.
The meeting included an exchange of views and assessments regarding developments in the Middle East.
Discussions covered the course of the U.S.-Iran negotiations, Egypt’s efforts to support regional security and stability and contain crises in the region, as well as priority regional issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause, the situation in Sudan, and developments in the Horn of Africa.
Both sides emphasized the importance of continuing coordination and consultation within the framework of the strategic partnership between the two countries and building on the positive momentum in bilateral relations in recent years, in a manner that enhances various areas of cooperation and serves the common interests of the two friendly nations.
Minister Abdelatty also conveyed an invitation from President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to Sanae Takaichi to visit Egypt, reflecting the depth of the historical ties between the two countries and the shared commitment to further advancing the Egyptian-Japanese strategic partnership to broader horizons.
