Egypt’s Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Aati held phone talks on Tuesday with his Qatari counterpart Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, to exchange views and coordinate positions on the latest regional developments.
The two top diplomats addressed the recent progress in the US-Iran negotiations, and explored ways to bridge remaining gaps in the talks in order to reach anlagreement that addresses the concerns of all parties.
Abdel-Aati was briefed by his Qatari counterpart on the ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at securing an agreement that would end the current war and pave the way for negotiations addressing security, political and economic concerns.
The two sides stressed the importance of intensifying diplomatic and political efforts during the current critical stage of negotiations.
They also underlined the need to maintain the negotiation track to resolve the ongoing crisis and end the war amid its severe regional and international security and economic repercussions over the past three months.
The ministers voiced hopes that ongoing diplomatic efforts would succeed in reaching an agreement capable of ending the conflict and opening a new phase for the region.
