Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdel-Aati held a phone call late on Monday with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to discuss bilateral relations and ongoing efforts to reduce regional tensions.
During the call, the two ministers praised the strong and steadily advancing ties between Egypt and Türkiye, reaffirming their shared commitment to enhancing co-operation across various fields in a manner that serves the mutual interests of the two friendly nations.
The discussions also focused on regional de-escalation efforts, with both ministers exchanging views and assessments regarding developments in the ongoing negotiation track between the United States and Iran.
In this context, the two sides stressed the importance of supporting diplomatic negotiations and relying on dialogue and peaceful political solutions as the only viable path toward reducing tensions and ending conflict in the region.
The two chief diplomats further expressed their hope that all parties would adopt positions guided by wisdom and responsibility, while prioritising diplomacy as the preferred means for resolving disputes and preserving regional stability.
