Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli met on Tuesday with Chairman and Managing Director of the Administrative Capital for Urban Development (ACUD),Khaled Abbas, to review the operational status of several projects in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

Madbouli said the NAC represents a major urban transformation, describing it as a smart and sustainable city built to international standards and designed to serve as Egypt’s administrative, cultural and economic hub.

He added that the city includes residential districts with diverse architectural styles, a range of administrative and entertainment services, and an attractive environment for local and foreign investment.

The prime minister noted that thousands of employees are currently working in the government district, alongside a steadily growing population and increasing visitor numbers.

He also highlighted the recent launch of the monorail, describing it as a modern mass transit system that has already attracted significant public interest.

Madbouli stressed the need to accelerate the operation of service and entertainment facilities, including the City of Arts and Culture, the Olympic City, the Green River and commercial outlets, while also emphasising the importance of continuous maintenance works to preserve investments in the NAC.

For his part, Abbas said the ACUD  is expanding and improving services in response to rising numbers of residents and visitors, while preparations are underway to operate additional facilities, restaurants and cafés.

He also noted that the Green River has entered a trial operation phase during recent holidays and that internationally acclaimed tenor Andrea Bocelli is scheduled to perform in the NAC on May 26 as part of efforts to promote it as a global cultural destination.
