Egypt is set to host the Men’s Sabre World Cup at the Cairo International Stadium halls complex from May 22 to 24.
The tournament will feature 231 fencers from 40 countries, including France, Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, the United States, and hosts Egypt.
Egypt’s hosting of the event follows a series of successful international fencing tournaments in recent years, strengthening the International Fencing Federation’s confidence in the country.
Last year, Egypt hosted the Women’s Sabre World Cup, and earlier this year it organized the Men’s and Women’s Foil World Cup in April.
The competition will give Egyptian fencers a chance to face top-ranked international opponents and gain more experience in front of home fans.
