Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly chaired a meeting on Monday to review the implementation of Egypt’s National Industrial Strategy 2026–2030, attended by Industry Minister Khaled Hashem and senior officials.
The strategy aims to boost non-oil exports to $100 billion by 2030 through a comprehensive plan that identifies priority sectors, strengthens industrial competitiveness, and integrates Egypt into global value chains.
Hashem outlined key programs, including the industrial map, support for struggling factories, supplier development, SME growth, and the “productive village” model. He noted that seven priority sectors have been identified: ready-made garments, textiles, food industries, automotive, electrical and engineering equipment, electronics assembly, and pharmaceuticals.
The minister emphasized measures to enhance energy planning, improve legislation, and attract investment, while also focusing on workforce training and raising the competitiveness of Egyptian products in global markets.
Madbouly praised the ambitious targets and directed that each program be tied to clear timelines and measurable indicators to ensure tangible progress in industrial growth and export expansion.
