KUWAIT CITY – Kuwait’s Al Anbaa newspaper on Saturday shed light on the remarks made by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi after selecting Egypt among the first countries that will receive the technology needed to produce mRNA vaccines in the African continent.
During the event held as part of the European Union-African Union summit in Brussels, Sisi voiced his appreciation for naming Egypt among African countries that will have access to vaccine manufacture technology, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper.
Sisi added that Egypt has invested in the vaccine manufacture technology and supported African countries to provide them for their citizens.
The pandemic has surprised the whole world, therefore moves were made to find a swift solution, even if this solution took some time, but “arriving late is better than not arriving,” Sisi said.
He hailed the WHO’s efforts to enable the African continent to overcome the negative health, economic and social impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, according to it.
