President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi met on Wednesday with President of Hiroshima University, Mitsuo Ochi, in the presence of Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli, Minister of Education and Technical Education Mohamed Abdel Latif, Vice President of Hiroshima University Shinji Kaneko, and Japan’s Ambassador to Cairo, Fumio Iwai.
According to the Presidency Spokesman Mohamed El-Shennawy, President Sisi expressed Egypt’s pride in its distinguished relations with Japan, as well as the long-standing partnership between the two countries in both pre-university and higher education.
He also praised the constructive and fruitful cooperation between Egypt and Hiroshima University.
President Sisi affirmed Egypt’s keenness to expand cooperation with the Japanese side in the fields of education and pedagogy. This, he said, aligns with Egypt’s broader efforts to develop curricula and improve the quality of education, while maximising the use of modern technological applications in the sector.
The president also stressed the importance of keeping pace with the latest technological advancements, including artificial intelligence, to better equip students with advanced scientific tools and prepare them for the evolving demands of the labour market.
For his part, Hiroshima University President Mitsuo Ochi voiced pride in the university’s ongoing cooperation with the Egyptian government and commended Egypt’s efforts to advance its educational system and programmes. He also praised Egypt’s initiatives to implement modern teaching methods.
He reaffirmed the university’s commitment to continuing its collaboration with the Egyptian government, to strengthen bilateral cooperation and support Egypt’s priorities in the education sector.
