BRUSSELS – The European Commission announced on Friday an investment of more than 110 million euros in integrated projects for the protection of the environment and the climate under the LIFE programme, selected following a call for proposals covering the year 2020.
These funds will support major new environmental and climate projects in eleven EU countries: Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
These projects contribute to the green recovery in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and support the objectives of climate neutrality and zero pollution by 2050 set out in the European Green Deal.
These are concrete examples of actions that will deliver the main objectives of the European Green Deal under the EU’s 2030 Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan of the EU in favor of the circular economy.
