Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation, and Egyptians Abroad, Badr Abdel-Aati, has reaffirmed that the negotiation and dialogue remain the only viable means to resolve the current regional conflict.
He also expressed hope that a second round of United States–Iran talks would contribute to reaching understandings leading to a ceasefire, de-escalation, and an end to the war.
Abdel-Aati held a telephone conversation on Sunday with Mr Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as part of ongoing bilateral consultations on regional developments and coordination of joint efforts.
During the call, the two sides reviewed the latest situation in the region and discussed efforts to advance the diplomatic track between Washington and Tehran.
They underlined the importance of continued engagement and coordination in support of regional security and stability.
At the conclusion of the call, both ministers agreed to maintain close communication and sustain consultations on relevant developments, in a manner that contributes to de-escalation and the promotion of peace and stability in the region.
