CAIRO – Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatti and his Pakistani counterpart Mohammad Ishaq Dar reviewed regional developments and coordination efforts to de-escalate tensions.
During a phone call on Tuesday evening, the top diplomats discussed joint efforts to reach an understating between the US and Iran to achieve a ceasefire at the current critical juncture in the region, according to Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khallaf.
The two ministers shared views on ways to de-escalate regional tensions, emphasizing the importance of giving priority to wisdom, diplomacy, and negotiations to prevent consequences that could threaten regional and international peace and security.
Meanwhile, Abdelatty strongly condemned recent attacks against GCC countries, reiterating Egypt’s categorical rejection of these heinous and unjustified assaults.
He also affirmed Egypt’s complete solidarity with Gulf nations, emphasizing the need for an immediate halt to such attacks. Abdelatty also called for respecting the security, sovereignty, and territorial integrity of Gulf states, Jordan, and Iraq.
The two ministers concluded by agreeing to maintain close coordination in the coming hours to advance joint efforts for de-escalating regional tensions and ending the ongoing conflict to support regional stability.
