Chairman and Managing Director of EgyptAir Holding Company Pilot Ahmed Adel recently shared insights on the future of aviation during a discussion at the American Chamber of Commerce.
He explained that the industry is entering a period of major strategic change, requiring a complete rethink of how global air travel operates.
Because of current geopolitical tensions and the closure of certain airspaces, airlines are facing longer flight paths and rising costs for fuel and insurance, which has naturally led to higher ticket prices for travellers worldwide.
Despite these difficulties, EgyptAir has been proactive in managing the crisis by organising evacuation flights and quickly rerouting its network to keep passengers moving.
Adel highlighted that the company is focusing heavily on operational efficiency to offset rising expenses.
By staying flexible, the national carrier aims to protect its flight schedules and maintain high service standards even when regional conditions are unpredictable.
Looking ahead, Adel sees a chance to turn these obstacles into long-term advantages for the country. He emphasised that the current situation provides a unique opportunity to strengthen Cairo’s role as a major transit hub connecting Asia, Africa, and Europe.
By encouraging stronger co-operation between the government and private businesses, Egypt can overcome these challenges and secure its position as a leading regional center for logistics and aviation.
