PARIS – Egyptian Ambassador in Paris Alaa Youssef said on Saturday that the visit of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to France for participation in the One Ocean Summit is a new step towards furthering cooperation and strategic partnership between the two countries.
Speaking to MENA, Youssef said the meeting between President Sisi and his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron on Friday aimed at exchanging visions towards issues of mutual concern.
He added that the successive visits by President Sisi to France contributed to improving relations between the two countries.
The French president welcomed Egypt’s efforts to achieve development and combat extremism, and praised Egypt’s hosting of the COP27 conference in Sharm El Sheikh next November, Youssef noted.
For his part, President Sisi said Egypt was keen to take part in the summit out of strong relations binding the two countries, the ambassador pointed out.
