The Egyptian national football team officially arrived in Jeddah a short while ago, marking the start of a critical final phase in their journey toward the World Cup this June.
This visit, at the official invitation of the Saudi Arabian Football Federation, centers on a highly anticipated friendly match against the Saudi national team this Friday, March 27. The fixture is a cornerstone of the Pharaohs’ technical preparations, providing a high-intensity environment to test tactical strategies against a top-tier regional opponent before the squad departs for North America.

This clash in Jeddah serves as the first of two elite tests during the current international break. Following the match against Saudi Arabia, the Egyptian delegation will travel to Barcelona on March 28 to face Spain on March 31. These back-to-back matches against diverse footballing styles are designed to ensure the team is battle-hardened for their World Cup Group G campaign, which includes challenging fixtures against Belgium, Iran, and New Zealand.

A major focus of this camp is the successful integration of elite expatriate talent, highlighted by the debut of Haitham Hassan.
The Real Oviedo winger, who previously represented France at the youth level, has officially joined the squad in Jeddah, signaling a strategic effort to bolster the roster with Egyptian professionals competing in major European leagues.

This approach reflects a commitment to building a deep, versatile squad capable of competing on the global stage in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

The Egyptian delegation is led by Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil, alongside EFA President Hani Abu Rida.
The Minister expressed his gratitude for the exceptional hospitality and the Saudi Federation’s role in hosting this vital training camp, emphasizing that such strong friendlies are essential for the national team’s success in the upcoming World Cup.
