CAIRO — Mohamed Salah has been ruled out of the Egyptian national team’s March training camp after sustaining an injury, team director Ibrahim Hassan confirmed.
The Pharaohs, under the guidance of head coach Hossam Hassan, are set to begin a closed training camp on Sunday at the National Teams Center.

The camp forms part of Egypt’s preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, with scheduled friendlies against Saudi Arabia national football team on March 27 and Spain national football team on March 31.
Salah picked up the injury during Liverpool FC’s recent UEFA Champions League clash with Galatasaray, requesting to be substituted before leaving the pitch in the 75th minute.
Meanwhile, Pyramids FC defender Mohamed Hamdy has also been sidelined after suffering a cruciate ligament injury, ruling him out of the upcoming camp.

Egypt will depart for Jeddah on March 25 to face Saudi Arabia, before traveling to Spain on March 28 ahead of their second friendly on March 31.
These fixtures represent a key phase in the Pharaohs’ build-up to the 2026 World Cup.
