President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi held a phone call on Monday with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia.
Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El-Shenawy said President Sisi began the call by stressing Egypt’s full support for Saudi Arabia in light of current developments in the Middle East. He strongly condemned Iranian attacks on Saudi Arabia, describing them as unacceptable violations of the sovereignty of a fellow Arab state. He emphasized the need to respect the sovereignty of all Arab nations and safeguard their peoples.
The President reviewed Egypt’s ongoing contacts with regional and international partners to reduce tensions. He underlined the shared destiny between Egypt and Gulf states, noting that their national security is inseparable. He praised Saudi Arabia’s leadership under King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for efforts to preserve regional stability and contain escalation.
Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman expressed appreciation for Egypt’s supportive stance, highlighting the historic and brotherly ties between the two countries. He valued Egypt’s role in protecting Arab stability.
The call also addressed ways to strengthen joint Arab efforts to confront challenges and activate the concept of collective Arab security. Both leaders agreed to continue consultations to reinforce security and stability in the region.
