Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Co-operation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdel-Aati met Sultan of Oman Haitham bin Tariq in Muscat on Monday in Muscat.

The visit marked the third stop in Abdel-Aati’s tour of some Arab countries, and it aimed at reaffirming Egypt’s full solidarity with Oman in the face of current security challenges.

Abdel-Aati conveyed greetings of the Egyptian President to the Omani Sultan and reiterated Egypt’s full support-at the leadership, government and public levels-for the Sultanate at this sensitive regional moment.

He also lauded Sultan Haitham’s wisdom and efforts in supporting security and stability across the region, commending Oman’s restraint amid difficult regional circumstances in order to avoid further instability.

For his part, Sultan Haitham conveyed greetings and appreciation to the President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, lauding ‘Egypt’s balanced and wise policies’.

He also highlighted Egypt’s principled positions supporting Gulf security and its pivotal role in safeguarding Arab national security and regional stability.

According to Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ambassador Tamim Khallaf, Abdel-Aati stressed firm condemnation of the attacks on Oman, rejecting any justifications for the ‘blatant violations of international law and the UN Charter’.

He also emphasised that the security of Oman and the Gulf is integral to Egypt’s national security.

The meeting reviewed the rapidly escalating regional situation, underscoring the importance of continued coordination between Egypt and Oman to contain tensions, end the war, and prioritise diplomatic solutions.

Abdel-Aati further called for launching a serious Arab dialogue on post-war security arrangements.

For his part, Sultan Haitham praised the strong bilateral relations between both countries and expressed appreciation for the role of Egyptian companies in Oman’s modernisation efforts.
