BUE focuses on linking education with labour market needs
Minister of Labour Hassan Raddad held talks on Tuesday with Mohamed Lotfy, President of the British University in Egypt (BUE), to explore ways of strengthening co-operation between the ministry and academic institutions in preparing qualified human resources aligned with labour market demands.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the launch of a new national system aimed at qualifying Egyptian professionals with diverse academic and vocational backgrounds to meet the requirements of overseas labour markets.
Raddad said training and qualification programmes will be closely aligned with labour market needs in order to enhance employment opportunities for Egyptian youth abroad.
The minister added that the Ministry of Labour plans to utilise Egypt’s network of labour offices overseas — currently numbering nine — to promote the skills and capabilities of Egyptian workers and highlight their competitiveness in international markets.
He noted that the proposed system will target all categories of qualifications, including university graduates, holders of mid-level diplomas, and individuals with technical and vocational skills.
According to Raddad, the initiative forms part of a broader strategy aimed at maximising the use of Egypt’s human resources and strengthening the presence of skilled Egyptian labour in global markets.
