On March 9, Egypt marked Martyrs’ Day with a statement from Culture Minister Gehan Zaki. She paid tribute to the fallen heroes of the armed forces and police who gave their lives to defend the nation. She said their sacrifices remain a source of pride for all Egyptians.

The minister described Martyrs’ Day as a national occasion to remember the courage of those who protected Egypt’s security and stability. She noted that their blood wrote shining pages in the country’s history and embodied the highest values of sacrifice.

Zaki highlighted the state’s commitment, under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, to honor martyrs and care for their families. She stressed the role of culture in preserving their legacy and teaching new generations about their inspiring stories.

She announced that the ministry will expand efforts to document the heroism of Egypt’s martyrs through cultural and artistic activities. These include seminars, theater performances, publications, and literary works inspired by their sacrifices.

The minister concluded that the martyrs’ example will continue to guide future generations, symbolizing patriotism and devotion, and affirming that Egypt will always remain strong through its loyal sons.
