Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Mohamed Farid Saleh, met with Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, Head of the Trade Representation Office, to discuss the work mechanisms of the country’s trade offices and their role in supporting exports and attracting foreign investment.
The meeting reviewed the work plans of the offices and the key export and investment sectors targeted during the current year.
Farid stressed the importance of intensifying efforts to promote Egypt as an attractive investment destination.
The minister stressed the need to focus on investments that help deepen local manufacturing, create job opportunities, and turn Egypt into a production base for exports to foreign markets, particularly African markets.
The minister also called for benefiting from global economic developments to attract more investments.
He directed trade representatives to study the markets of the countries where they operate to identify opportunities for expanding Egyptian exports and drawing foreign investment, while El-Sherif reviewed the approach followed by trade offices to open new markets and respond to regional and global economic changes.
