Egypt’s President Abel Fattah El Sisi on Wednesday received a phone call from Algeria’s President Abdelmajid Tebboune who highly appreciated the warm welcome and generous hospitality he received during his last visit to Egypt, which included fruitful talks and reflected the special relations binding the two countries.
President Sisi asserted distinguished brotherly relations between Egypt and Algeria and stressed Egypt’s aspiration for pushing forward bilateral co-operation at all levels, particularly economic, trade and investment fields through holding the upcoming session of the joint higher committee at the level of prime ministers as soon as possible.
President Tebboune said Algeria is proud of the close and distinguished ties with Egypt, at the official and the popular levels, and stressed his keenness to intensify bilateral co-operation in all fields particularly economy and security, Presidency Spokesman Ambassador Bassam Radi said.
Meanwhile, the two leaders discussed a number of regional issues of common concern, particularly the situation in Libya.
Sisi and Tebboune agreed on the prime importance of enhancing bilateral coordination to realise the main aim of fulfilling the will of the Libyan people through backing the institutions of the Libyan state, and the ongoing efforts to achieve security and stability in the country, as well as preserving its unity and sovereignty, the presidency spokesman said.
