Minister of Social Solidarity, Dr Maya Morsi, attended on Tuesday the communal Iftar organised by the Misr El Kheir Foundation for 1,500 fasting individuals, including members of partner associations and children with disabilities, at the “Ahl Masr Walkway,” as part of the holy month of Ramadan initiatives.
The minister reviewed all Iftar preparations, inspected the meals, and interacted with attendees, highlighting the importance of ensuring dignified service for all beneficiaries.
She commended the foundation and civil society organisations for their dedicated efforts during Ramadan, noting that these activities align with the presidential initiative “Abwab El Kheir” (Doors of Goodness), implemented in partnership with the Tahya Misr Fund.
The ministry, alongside the Fund for Supporting Projects of NGOs, the Ministry of Endowments, the National Alliance for Civil Development Work, the Egyptian Red Crescent, and multiple NGOs, aims to provide around 70 million hot meals and distribute over 5.5 million food boxes during Ramadan.
Dr Mohamed Refaie, CEO of Misr El Kheir Foundation, emphasised that the “Iftar for the Fasting” campaign, now in its 14th year, remains a cornerstone of the foundation’s work to support vulnerable families.
Through its extensive national network and continuous monitoring of beneficiaries’ needs, the foundation ensures comprehensive, year-round services across all sectors and governorates.
