Indonesia has donated five ambulances to Egypt’s Ambulance Authority to help strengthen medical services for Palestinians currently in Egypt due to the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip.
Indonesia’s Ambassador to Egypt, Kuncoro Giri Waseso, handed over the vehicles on behalf of Indonesia’s National Alms Agency (BAZNAS) to Chairman of the Egyptian Ambulance Authority, Amr Rashid. The ceremony was held at the authority’s headquarters under Egypt’s Ministry of Health and Population.
The ambulances are expected to boost emergency healthcare capacity, including medical evacuations and the transport of patients who require advanced treatment.

Ambassador Waseso said the donation represents a mandate from the Indonesian public, collected through BAZNAS, and reflects Indonesia’s commitment to humanitarian principles without discrimination or regard to national borders. He reaffirmed Indonesia’s continued support for humanitarian efforts to protect civilians affected by conflict, especially Palestinians.
The Egyptian Ambulance Authority thanked Indonesia for the contribution, describing it as a sign of close cooperation and strong relations between the two countries, and noting that the support will provide direct assistance to those most in need.
According to figures recorded by the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, humanitarian assistance delivered by the Indonesian government and 33 Indonesian relief organisations through Egypt from 7 October 2023 to February 2026 has totalled about $21.46 million, with an overall volume of roughly 2,380 tons.
