North Sinai Governor Khaled Megawar received on Thursday both Swedish ambassador to Egypt Dag Jolin Danfelt and Finnish ambassador to Egypt Riikka Eela along with their accompanying delegations, at the governorate’s headquarters in Arish.
The North Sinai governor reviewed Egypt’s efforts to address the situation in the Gaza Strip, including receiving humanitarian aid, storing it and sending it to Gaza, referring to Egypt’s reception of wounded and sick Palestinians.
The governor reviewed the threats facing Egypt from all strategic directions and the measures taken to confront these threats, as well as the state’s efforts in developing and reconstructing Sinai.
For their part, the Swedish and Finnish ambassadors thanked the governor for the warm welcome and commended Egypt’s vital role in calming down the situation in Gaza.
The delegations, accompanied by the governor, also visited Rafah Border Crossing on the Egyptian side to observe Egypt’s efforts in delivering aid and receiving Palestinian casualties.
They also visited the Egyptian Red Crescent’s logistical storage facilities in Arish to monitor the arrival, storage, coding, and redistribution of aid to Gaza.
Meantime, the delegations met with representatives of the World Food Program in North Sinai.
