CAIRO — Egypt has emphatically asserted its dominance on the modern pentathlon stage, sweeping the International Modern Pentathlon Federation awards with six prestigious honors and reaffirming its status as a global force in the sport.
From trailblazing teenagers to established champions and elite technical minds, Egypt ruled every category, delivering performances that blended brilliance, discipline, and tactical mastery—leaving the international pentathlon community in admiration.
Teen phenom
At just 14 years old, Farida Khalil delivered a season for the ages, capturing both Best Senior Player and Best Junior Player—an unprecedented achievement that ranks among the greatest campaigns in Egyptian modern pentathlon history.

Khalil became the youngest senior world champion ever, while also claiming under-21 gold in Hungary, under-19 gold in Lithuania, and under-17 gold in South Africa. Her extraordinary ascent highlights the depth and strength of Egypt’s talent pathway.
Elite standard
Moataz Wael matched Khalil’s brilliance, securing Best Senior Player and Best Junior Player honors of his own.
With titles at both senior and youth world championships, alongside three consecutive World Cup gold medals in Alexandria and Hungary, Wael has firmly established himself among the sport’s elite.

Defined by consistency, power, and precision, Wael represents the gold standard of Egypt’s modern pentathlon excellence.
Success architects
Behind every medal, there’s a master strategist at work. Yasser Hefny, honoured as the Best Technical Director in the World, has been the driving force behind Egypt’s rise in modern pentathlon. His vision, precision, and leadership have shaped a team capable of competing—and winning—on the world stage.

Hefny’s guidance was pivotal in securing four junior individual medals at the World Championships, showcasing not just the athletes’ talent but the meticulous planning and strategic intelligence that fuel their success. His approach proves that behind Egypt’s dominance lies a foundation of discipline, innovation, and tactical brilliance.
World class
Crowning the remarkable year, Egypt was named Best Team, a fitting tribute to its collective strength and unified vision.
Under the leadership of Engineer Sherif Al-Arian, the federation’s long-term strategy—developing young talent while sustaining elite performance—has turned Egyptian modern pentathlon into a global benchmark of excellence.

The clean sweep at the 2025 UIPM Awards was more than a celebration—it was a statement of supremacy. In modern pentathlon, Egypt now defines the gold standard.
