Egypt’s pavilion at the 29th East Mediterranean International Tourism & Travel Exhibition (EMITT) in Istanbul has been honored with the prestigious “Best Booth Design” award. This recognition comes thanks to its exceptional visual impact, unique pharaonic-inspired architecture, and a vibrant showcase of Egypt’s rich and diverse tourism offerings.
The event was held from February 5 to 7 in Istanbul, Türkiye, drawing participants and visitors from across the globe.
Spanning an impressive 200 square meters, the Egyptian pavilion captivated attendees with its striking homage to ancient Egypt.
Visitors were invited to immerse themselves in both the fascinating history and the modern vibrancy of the country. Highlights included a dedicated VIP meeting room, a welcoming hospitality area offering traditional refreshments, and digital screens presenting captivating promotional films about Egypt’s many treasures.
Special emphasis was placed on the highly anticipated Grand Egyptian Museum, poised to become one of the world’s premier cultural landmarks. Adding an authentic cultural touch, a skilled henna artist delighted guests with traditional designs, further enhancing the booth’s inviting atmosphere.
On the sidelines of EMITT, Egypt’s Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities launched a major advertising campaign to highlight the country’s diverse tourism offerings. The campaign aims to introduce Turkish travelers to the wealth of attractions Egypt has to offer, appealing to a wide range of tastes and interests. Türkiye is an increasingly promising source market for Egyptian tourism, with visitor numbers from Türkiye showing steady growth in recent years.
The promotional campaign features eye-catching advertisements along Istanbul’s bridges, major roads such as the busy TEM Highway, and public buses. Additionally, digital ads are displayed at Istanbul Airport and on billboards throughout the city to engage potential visitors.
Egypt’s presence at EMITT was further promoted through widespread branding: the country’s logo appeared on attendee badges, lanyards, exhibitor and media passes, as well as on billboards at the entrances to Exhibition Halls 1 and 3. A special one-minute video, “Unmatched Diversity,” was also screened in the exhibitors’ lounge.
EMITT stands as one of the world’s leading tourism exhibitions, attracting more than 600 exhibitors and over 30,000 tourism professionals from more than 100 countries, including representatives from Latin America, Europe, Southeast Asia, the Arab world, and the Middle East.
