CAIRO – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration, and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s steadfast position on the Palestinian issue, emphasizing full support for the Palestinian people and their inalienable rights, including the right to self-determination and the establishment of an independent state along the June 4, 1967 lines, with Al Quds (occupied East Jerusalem) as its capital.
He stressed the necessity of achieving a comprehensive and just settlement based on international legitimacy and the two-state solution.
The statements came during Abdelatty’s participation on Friday in the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee meeting on Gaza, held in Ljubljana, Slovenia, at the invitation of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia Tanja Fajon.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Jordanian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Bahraini Foreign Minister Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, and Qatari

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Tamim Khallaf said Abdelatty expressed appreciation for Slovenia’s principled support for the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, including recognition of the State of Palestine and consistent stances in international forums.
Abdelatty stressed the importance of preserving the territorial unity of Palestinian lands, ensuring geographic and demographic continuity between the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and rejecting any attempts to divide or isolate Gaza from the rest of Palestinian territories.

He also confirmed Egypt’s full support for the National Committee for Gaza Administration (NCAG), headed by Ali Shaath, highlighting its critical role in managing daily affairs and meeting the basic needs of Gaza’s residents during the transitional phase.
The minister stressed the importance of sustaining humanitarian aid and relief flows to Gaza and the deployment of an international stabilization force to monitor the ceasefire.
He reiterated that addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza should go hand in hand with tackling the core Palestinian issue comprehensively, underlining that sustainable peace can only be achieved by addressing the root causes of the conflict.
Egypt remains committed to constructive engagement with all regional and international partners to reach a just and comprehensive solution to the Palestinian issue, Abdelatty said.
The spokesperson added that Abdelatty also addressed wider regional developments, stressing the importance of de escalating tensions in the region, particularly with regard to Iran.
