White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt confirmed that US President Donald Trump has many options on Iran.
Addressing reporters during a news conference reported by Al-Qahera News on Tuesday, Leavitt said Trump has options for dealing with Iran, including military force; however, he prefers diplomacy.
Leavitt noted that the US Central Command “acted appropriately” in shooting down an Iranian drone today, confirming that talks with Tehran are still scheduled for later this week.
Meanwhile, a US official said on Monday that US Mideast envoy Steve Witkoff and Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi are expected to meet on Friday to discuss a possible nuclear agreement and other issues.
