Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and UAE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan underscored the need to move forward with implementing the requirements of the second phase of US President Donald Trump’s plan for Gaza.

The ministers emphasized support for the national committee tasked with administering Gaza and the swift deployment of an international stabilisation force to monitor the implementation of the ceasefire, paving the way for early recovery and reconstruction, while ensuring the uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to the enclave.

The ministers’ remarks came during their meeting held within the framework of close coordination and ongoing cooperation between the two brotherly countries.

The ministers reaffirmed the depth and special nature of fraternal relations between Cairo and Abu Dhabi and greed to continue strengthening existing partnership frameworks and building on their current momentum in a manner that reflects the close coordination between the two states.

They also discussed regional developments of mutual interest, including efforts to support de-escalation in Sudan and improve the humanitarian situation there. Abdelatty stressed the importance of preserving Sudan’s unity, territorial integrity, and national institutions.

Regarding the Iranian nuclear file, Abdelatty underscored the importance of adhering to diplomatic tracks and creating favorable conditions for resuming dialogue between the United States and Iran, with the aim of reaching a comprehensive and balanced agreement that takes into account the interests and concerns of all parties.

He said that such an agreement would contribute to enhancing regional and international security and stability, reducing the risks of escalation, and promoting sustainable de-escalation and confidence-building.

Abdelatty said the current priority is to reduce escalation by strengthening political and diplomatic pathways to prevent the widening of crises and safeguard regional security and stability. He also emphasized the importance of continued coordination and consultation among Arab states as the most effective means of confronting current challenges and protecting the interests of Arab countries and peoples.
