The Egyptian national handball team qualified for the final of the African Men’s Handball Championship in Rwanda after a solid 32–26 victory over Cape Verde in the semi-finals.
Egypt set the pace early in the match, entering halftime with a 16–11 lead and maintaining their advantage through the second half to secure their spot in the title game.
The tournament is scheduled to conclude on Saturday, with Egypt now just one win away from the trophy.
The team’s path to the final has been marked by a series of dominant performances throughout the main round. They earned a decisive 42–28 win against Algeria, controlling the match from start to finish, and followed it up with a powerful 48–22 victory over Nigeria.
To keep the players in peak condition, the coaching staff utilised a scheduled rest day just before the semi-final, allowing the squad to recover and focus entirely on the challenge posed by Cape Verde.
Egypt’s perfect run began in the group stage, where they finished at the top of their standings without a single loss.
They opened the tournament by beating Gabon 36–25 and Angola 41–28, before finishing the round with a massive 54–13 win over Uganda.
These consistent, high-scoring results have confirmed Egypt’s status as the strongest contender in the competition as they prepare for the final showdown.
