In a landmark move for the North African automotive landscape, Mansour Automotive, the exclusive distributor for Chevrolet in Egypt, and General Motors (GM) have officially launched the brand’s first fully electric vehicles (EVs) in the Egyptian market.

The strategic rollout introduces the Chevrolet Captiva EV Premier and the Chevrolet Spark EUV Activ, signaling a bold commitment to sustainable mobility and Egypt’s national “Green Transition” goals.

To lower the barrier to entry for electric adoption, the partners have positioned both models with aggressive pricing and extensive after-sales support:

  • Chevrolet Captiva EV Premier: Priced at EGP 1,299,000.
  • Chevrolet Spark EUV Activ: Priced at EGP 899,000.

To build consumer confidence, both vehicles come with an industry-leading 8-year or 160,000-km battery warranty, a 5-year or 150,000-km vehicle warranty, and three years of complimentary roadside assistance.

The Captiva EV is engineered as a balanced solution for daily family use, blending spacious interiors with modern performance.

  • Performance: Delivers a range of up to 415 km (NEDC) with an instantaneous torque of 310 Nm.
  • Design: Features a sleek two-tone body, 18-inch alloy wheels, and a tech-forward cabin boasting a massive 15.6-inch touchscreen and an 8.8-inch digital cluster.
  • Safety: Equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), including Lane Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, and a 360-degree surround-view camera.

The Spark EUV makes its Egyptian debut as a dynamic option tailored for younger drivers and urban commuters.

  • Performance: Offers a range of 360 km (NEDC), making it a practical choice for city driving.
  • Features: Despite its compact footprint, it includes premium touches like leather seats, a 10.1-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and a smart keyless entry system.
  • Safety: Features a comprehensive safety suite including four airbags, ABS, EBD, ESC, and a 360-degree camera.

Ankush Arora, CEO of Mansour Automotive, described the launch as a pivotal step in accelerating Egypt’s transition to electric transport. “These vehicles represent the beginning of a new phase for the Egyptian automotive market, aligning with state efforts toward clean energy and economic growth through long-term investment,” Arora stated.

Sharon Nishi, Chair and Managing Director of General Motors Egypt and North Africa, emphasized the global context of the launch. “This is a key step toward GM’s global vision of zero crashes, zero emissions, and zero congestion,” Nishi said. “Building on Chevrolet’s 42-year leadership in Egypt, we are proud to offer reliable, affordable, and smart solutions designed specifically for the Egyptian consumer.”

By combining cutting-edge technology with the country’s most established automotive service network, Mansour and GM aim to turn the “electric dream” into a daily reality for Egyptian drivers.
