Minister of Youth and Sports Dr Ashraf Sobhi has been officially elected as the Chairman of the Executive Office of the Council of Arab Ministers for Youth and Sports.
The election occurred on Tuesday during the 49th session of the Council, hosted at the League of Arab States headquarters in Cairo.
This leadership role places Egypt at the forefront of coordinating regional efforts to enhance athletic programs and youth engagement across the Arab world.

Upon his election, Sobhi extended his deep appreciation to the Arab ministers for their trust and support.
He highlighted that this achievement is a testament to Egypt’s influential role and its dedication to fostering unity among neighboring nations.
The Minister emphasized that his leadership will focus on strengthening solidarity and ensuring that joint Arab initiatives receive the necessary support to thrive on a global scale.

Sobhi also shared his vision for the coming term, noting that there will be a significant increase in collaborative projects and activities.
These efforts are designed to empower the younger generation and provide them with the tools and platforms needed to reach their full potential.
By prioritizing the aspirations of the youth, the Council aims to build a more connected and active regional community.

In addition to the chairmanship, the elections established the representative members of the Executive Office. The council now includes ministers from Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Morocco, Bahrain, Libya, Iraq, Algeria, and Palestine.
Together with Egypt, this newly formed office will work to implement strategic goals that benefit athletes and young citizens throughout the region.
