Egyptian Minister of Social Solidarity and Chair of the Executive Bureau of the Arab Ministers of Social Affairs Maya Morsi asserted her country’s firm stance in supporting the resilience of the Palestinians and standing by any Arab country facing exceptional challenges.
Morsi made the remarks during the 45th session of the Council of Arab Ministers of Social Affairs, hosted in Amman, with the participation of Jordanian Minister of Social Development and Chair of the current session Wafaa Bani Mustafa, Bahraini Minister of Social Development and Chair of the 44th session Osama bin Saleh al Alawi and Head of the Technical Secretariat of the Council Tarek al Nabulsi alongside other Arab ministers of social affairs.
Morsi asserted that Arab unity is a strong safeguard in facing crises, noting that Egypt’s humanitarian and relief efforts for the Gaza Strip and Palestine predate the events of October 7 and reflect a longstanding historical commitment.
She reaffirmed Egypt’s dedication to advancing joint Arab action, focusing on the well-being of Arab citizens and the protection of social and ethical community values.
She highlighted the humanitarian achievements of the Egyptian Red Crescent in Gaza, noting that since July 2025, 95 “Zad Al-Ezza” aid convoys have been dispatched over four months, delivering around 730,000 tons of humanitarian aid since October 8 in 2023.
She stressed that social development cannot be complete without economically empowering vulnerable groups, transforming cash support programs into small and micro-development projects that enhance economic independence for Arab families.
She cited the “Decent Life” initiative as a scalable Arab model and emphasized the family’s central role in community development and protection against harmful ideas and cyber threats.
