CAIRO – Egyptian Awqaf Minister Mohamed Mokhtar Gomaa attended on Thursday the launch of the feeding sukuk convoy for 2022 to distribute meat to needy families.

As part of the societal role of the Awqaf Ministry, six tons of Sukuk meat will be distributed in Cairo and Giza on Thursday and three tons in Dakhilia on Friday, the minister said.

He said high-quality meat will be distributed to needy families, adding that the project comes as part of the country’s priorities to provide societal protection to the poor and most vulnerable.

He said the project was launched in coordination with the Social Solidarity Ministry and will run all through the year.

“We seek to reach out to 100,00 families to get meat once per month instead of once a year,” he said.
