Minister of Civil Aviation Dr Sameh el-Hefny inaugurated the comprehensive development project for the main Operations Centre at the Egyptian Airports Company (EAC).
Following the completion of an integrated modernisation, the centre now represents a major qualitative leap in monitoring mechanisms and operational situation management across all Egyptian airports.
During his inspection, El-Hefny underscored the importance of this operational infrastructure, emphasising that the upgraded centre provides an advanced platform to support rapid decision-making and enhance essential coordination between airports and all relevant authorities, in full alignment with international standards.

Chairman and Managing Director of the Holding Company for Airports and Air Navigation Eng Ayman Arab stated that this development is a strategic move within the Holding Company’s plan to modernise monitoring and control mechanisms and achieve the highest levels of operational readiness.
He confirmed that the centre now delivers accurate, real-time information that significantly enhances the quality of decision-making and reinforces the foundations of professional crisis management.

Chairman and Managing Director of the Egyptian Airports Company Pilot Wael El-Nashar confirmed that the upgraded facility now relies on a sophisticated analytical infrastructure.
This includes modern systems for detailed reporting and compiling statistics on passenger and flight traffic.
Importantly, a new system has been activated for analysing departure delays, which is capable of identifying actual causes and proposing practical solutions to improve overall operational efficiency.
He added that this capability will contribute to developing a more comprehensive and accurate methodology for preparing monthly operational reports.

The extensive development work included a complete overhaul of the center’s work environment.
This involved redesigning the visual identity, completely renovating the operations room, and installing world-class display screens.
These screens present operational data and real-time reports through a flexible system that allows for the prioritisation of information based on event necessities and operational requirements.

Furthermore, monitoring capabilities were significantly enhanced via a sophisticated CCTV system that connects the centre to all airports in real time, enabling immediate monitoring of operations, reports, and emergencies to improve the efficiency of managing unforeseen situations.
Finally, the project included crucial upgrades to the communication infrastructure.
This involved enhancing the video conferencing system to ensure effective communication with airport crisis rooms and developing the wireless communication system to connect the center efficiently with all operational departments.
