Egyptian athletes have delivered a spectacular performance at the 2025 World Karate Championships, securing two gold medals for the host nation.
The tournament is currently underway at the main hall of the Indoor Sports Complex at Cairo International Stadium.
The first gold medal for Egypt was claimed by Ahlam Youssef in the Women’s Kumite -55 kg category. Youssef delivered a decisive performance, overcoming the Slovakian champion with an impressive 9-3 score in the final match.
Subsequently, Abdullah Mamdouh of Wadi Degla Club earned the second gold medal in the Men’s Kumite -75 kg category. Mamdouh demonstrated superior form throughout the competition, culminating in a commanding 6-0 victory over his Ukrainian opponent in the final bout.
This significant achievement is a highlight of the championships, which Egypt is proudly hosting from November 27th to 30th. The tournament marks a historic return for the nation as a host after a 38-year hiatus. With the participation of 88 countries, the successful organization of the event underscores Egypt’s proven capability to manage major international sporting events.
The Egyptian Karate Federation, led by President Mohamed El-Dahrawy, extended its congratulations to both champions for their honorable and exceptional results.
The Federation emphasized that this excellence is a direct result of the dedicated efforts of the national team and the technical staff, representing a distinguished new addition to the illustrious record of Egyptian sports.
