CAIRO – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi headed on Thursday to China to attend the inaugural ceremony of the Olympics which is due to kick off in Beijing on February 4.
Sisi’s participation in such an international sports event comes at an invitation from his Chinese counterpart Xi Jinping, Presidential Spokesman Bassam Radi said, referring to the deeply-rooted ties between the two countries.
During the visit, Sisi will hold a summit with Xi on means of cementing bilateral ties which witnessed a leap over the past years.
